How to choose the right shaft seal for your slurry pump?

Image
In the classification of pumps, according to its condition of conveying slurry, we call the pump which is suitable for conveying liquid (medium) containing suspended solids as slurry pump. Slurry pump is currently one of the indispensable equipment in various processes such as mineral processing, coal processing, desulfurization and filter press feeding. As people pay more and more attention to environmental protection, the sealing of slurry pump is also paid more and more attention. Slurry pump shaft seal  mainly has three kinds: packing seal, vice impeller seal and mechanical seal. Each of these three shaft seals has its own advantages, which are introduced as follows.     Packing seal. The packing seal of the slurry pump relies on the soft and hard grinding between the packing and the shaft sleeve to achieve the sealing effect. Packing seal needs to add shaft seal water, and its pressure must exceed the slurry pump discharge pressure. This type of seal is easy to replace and is wide

Flue Gas Desulfurization Processes

What Are the Effluent Limitation Guidelines (ELG)? The combustion of fossil fuels to power manufacturing and refining facilities occurs across a wide range of industrial sectors. Fossil fuel plants power chemical and oil refineries, as well as those facilities that produce cement, paper, glass, steel, iron, copper, and other metals. The SO 2  gases emitted as a result of that process are a primary contributor to acid rain and has long been regulated by every industrialized nation in the world due to their harmful effects on human health and the environment. In the U.S., ELG rules regulate wastewater discharges from coal-fired power plants and IGCC power plant wastewaters utilized in flue gas air pollution control systems or solid waste handling systems. Flue-gas desulfurization was an important development to meet environmental challenges.     Flue Gas Desulfurization Processes The process of FGD is designed to absorb the sulfur dioxide in the flue gas before it is released. This is ac

How to Check Your Washer Pump?

If you turn on your washer after completing a cycle and find that the water is still there, it doesn't mean you need a new washer. In fact, you may not even have to call a repair specialist. There are only two possible causes: something is stuck in the drain or the pump is faulty. However, you won't be able to tell which it is without looking inside the washer, which you can do by removing the front panel. Once you can see what is happening, the next steps you need to take will be obvious.     Unplug the machine and pull it away from the wall. Drain as much water as possible with a cup, then use a sponge to soak up any remaining water.   Tilt the machine back and place a 2 x 4 block under the two front feet, indicating the household handyman.   Locate the screws holding the front panel in place. There are usually two under the top of the toe kick near the floor. If the machine is a top loader, the entire front panel will come off. If it is a front loader, only the part under th
