Types of pumps suitable for mine sites

Image
Mine sites demand durability and reliability above all else for critical equipment such as pumps. Besides this, it is important that these pumps can handle the arduous nature of the pumped liquid. With a wide variety of pumps available for mine sites, deciding which one is right for your application can be challenging. In this blog, we  chat with our specialised Project's Team  to identify the different types of mine pumps available and what applications they are most suitable for.   SGB Pumps recommend the following pumps for mine sites: Slurry Pumps Slurry pumps are specifically built to handle the highly abrasive, high-density nature of slurries. Depending on the brand, slurry pumps maintain high efficiencies over the wear life of their components. There are a wide range of construction materials for maximum abrasion and corrosion resistance to suit various demanding mine site applications.   SGB Slurry Pump SGB slurry pump offer operators a completely different customer-centric

What Does It Mean If Your Pump is Self-priming?

Self-priming pumps are a special type of fluid pump. They are designed for fluid movement and transfer, which increases the efficiency of many pumping applications.   How self-priming pumps work Self-priming pumps  are specially designed centrifugal pumps. These pumps are designed with a housing that "submerges" the internal pump. When the pump is opened, the impeller rotates, creating a low pressure area. The liquid inside is then pushed upward by atmospheric pressure onto the suction pump, which forces air through the pump. When the air and water mix, the liquid is expelled from the casing, thus igniting the flow rate. When to use a self-priming pump? Self-priming centrifugal pumps can be used in many applications due to their versatility; they are suitable for some of the most demanding applications, including ► Water supply and disposal ► General industrial and manufacturing uses ► Chemical and mining applications ►Food and beverage ►Agriculture and irrigation   Why shoul
